Before we achieve, we dream

I don’t think anyone gets into entrepreneurship without having big dreams. It always blows my mind what people can make possible.

Still, the dream comes first. Our dreams can be our biggest revenue generators because dreams are what drive us.

I recently returned from an impromptu sunny vacay in Ibiza, one of my favourite places. When I’m there, I always think of my first trip, back in 2015, just after I had started my business. I was staying in inexpensive lodgings in an okay neighbourhood, but as I took in the breathtaking coast, I dreamed I’d be back, staying at a top resort and enjoying the fruits of a successful business that I had grown 10 times bigger.

And that’s what happened.

I had a moment to myself again this time, and reminded myself of who I was back then. I remembered the decisions I made that brought me the life I live now and the dreams that inspired them.

Anyone who follows me here, or on Facebook or Instagram, has heard how I’ve used speaking to achieve a multiple six-figure business and globetrotting lifestyle of my dreams. I think people often focus on the idea of multiple six figures. And I get it – that’s important.

However, today I’d like to focus on dreams.

There’s a gorgeous line from the poet Erin Hanson: “What if I fall? Oh, but darling, what if you fly?”

Whenever I think of this poem – and I do, a lot – I ask myself: “What if you fly so high you blow your own mind in ways you never thought possible, Moira?”

We can use our dreams to fuel the work we need to do that will turn our dreams into reality. And if we want to generate more revenue in our business, we need bigger dreams.

Dream big and dream often! Have a short-term dream, a dream for five to 10 years and even a “someday dream”.

I do a monthly Dial In Your Destiny Challenge and I ask that question: What are your dreams? I think those discussions really lift everyone.

If your dream is strong enough, and you make the decision that it is going to happen, you’ll find that you’re going to start attracting the things you need to make that dream come true.

We’ve got to believe that we’re good enough and big enough for those dreams. Most people don’t dream that big because most people are afraid to dream big.

I think that fear, that feeling not good enough, is something that we all struggle with, especially as women. I would say it’s the number one thing that tries to hold me back.

The first thing I do is check in with my belief in what I’m doing, and the results I’m seeing for my amazing clients – the transformation I’m helping to create for them. I’ll look at testimonials I’ve received and listen to clients speak of how working with me has turned their businesses around.

And that’s all you need to keep going, and to keep dreaming.

It’s important to remember our value in our day-to-day lives, too. Recently I was able to take a client from charging $100 an hour to making a 15k offer. I showed her how to stop talking about what she did and speak to the true transformation that she delivered.

Too often, when most people think about raising their prices, they think, “what else can I add to my programme?” I ask my clients to consider this: “How can I reposition my offer to highlight the transformation and true value?”

When my client did this, she was able earn more in the first quarter of 2022 than she had in all of 2021. Then she found a small stage, spoke for five minutes to the true transformation she provides, and had someone message her to say this: You’re exactly what I’m looking for.

Start speaking to the true transformation you bring to your clients. If you can offer people true transformation, no one will expect it to be cheap.

I hold international retreats every year, and also use them as a reminder to my clients of the value of our dreams. My first this year was in Valencia, Spain, and the second one is coming up in Marrakesh, in Morocco.

A main reason I do this is because I love getting in a room with my clients and bringing the community together to connect and learn from each other. I also love to travel and use my business to fuel my life. And I’m training people how to become international speakers, and think it’s important to give people a taste of what that is.

But another reason I do these is because I think it’s important to have something that will drive us to do what we need to do every day. One of my clients is taking her first trip out of North America to be with us in Marrakesh, and she has a whole new energy about her. Now she has a dream of what kind of rewards are ahead.

Your dreams shouldn’t be “just” anything. They should be everything.

At my Dial In Your Destiny Challenge, I break down the five-step speaking success framework that I use with my clients to go from three-figure hours to five-figure offers, and to get your message in front of thousands of people around the world.

The VIP experience happens in a smaller, more intimate group, where I learn all about people’s businesses and focus on the real value – the transformation – they offer people.

This challenge is the best of my coaching programme, delivered in 10 hours over five days. You can expect personal and professional transformation that will catapult your business to a place that allows you to achieve your professional and personal dreams.

What are you dreaming about? Join us at the Dial In Your Destiny Challenge and let’s start making your dreams a reality.
