What level of commitment are you going to bring in 2022?

Let’s use the lessons of this past year to make the new year even better!

December, naturally, is a time when we see lots of year-end lists – the best and the most interesting of the year. It’s a good time to look back and assess.

We should do that for our businesses, too.

For me, getting our businesses ready for the new year starts with asking ourselves how we’ve shown up for our businesses in the past year.

On a scale of 1 to 10, how committed were you to your business in 2021? Your answer will show you why you had the results you did.

Most entrepreneurs never get past the 30k to 50 or 60k mark – that’s an average earning for a female entrepreneur. In the UK only 2 per cent get over the six-figure mark.

If you know me or have been following me on Facebook or Instagram, you know I reached that six-figure mark within two years of discovering speaking and I help my clients reach that even faster.

Because I think it comes down to asking yourself some simple questions about your commitment. If you’re able to reach 30k to 50k a year, and if your level of commitment was only at a 5 or 6 on the scale, then you just need to push that commitment to 10 to get into the top 2 percent of earners.

I think this is the perfect time to gauge your level of commitment to your business over the last 12 months. And then the question becomes this:

What level of commitment are you going to bring in 2022?

Are you going to do the same – kind of half in and half out – and get the same results, even though you know you’re capable of more? Or are you going to turn into the 2.0 version of yourself right now and start making decisions from that place?

That’s something you can control straight away.

I specialise in helping entrepreneurs – especially speakers, coaches and consultants – use speaking to build a top-tier income and a globetrotting lifestyle.

Speaking on stages around the world, real and virtual, has grown my business in ways I couldn’t even imagine when I started, and it can grow yours as well.

Too often we can become paralyzed by focusing on things that are out of our control and ignore the things we have control over.

When I decided I was going to use speaking to grow my business, I started from a very small village in north-west Donegal. Where would I find speaking gigs?

But the moment I made that decision I started to see opportunities everywhere: Our local bank held business showcases; resource centres held women’s group meetings that drew entrepreneurs. I started branching out regionally and organised a speaking tour across Ireland, Waking the Giants, to wake Ireland’s entrepreneurs to the fact that they were asleep to their own possibility.

I averaged three to five new clients every time I spoke. I realized it wasn’t things outside of my control that create success. It was something totally in my control that could create my success.

Decisions create success. Indecision is going to keep you small, it’s going to keep you stuck. It’s not going to help you grow your business.

I would say that the success I experienced and the speed of that success was because I was in a different room maybe two or three times a week when I was trying to get to my very first milestone, seeing my business cross the six-figure mark. Reaching multiple six figures came next.

And now we have opportunities I didn’t have when I started – the rise in virtual events has given us the chance to reach audiences around the globe from our homes.

During a Facebook Live I did last week I heard from a client who said she’s still trading on a signature talk she created with me 18 months ago. That’s what I do: I help people create a really powerful message, turn that into a really powerful signature talk, and create income goals that will blow your mind. Then we get to work on making that happen.

Another of my clients just crossed the 10k per month mark. Now we’re thinking how she can reach 20k. And another just booked six stages, following my advice at networking events she attended. If she gets one or two clients from each – and I think that’s very likely – that’s up to a dozen clients, and between 60k and 100k.

It’s not all about money, of course. But when it comes down to business and being able to make an impact, it’s important that your business is profitable and creates a consistent income.

The quality of your business and your life in 2022 will be based on decisions you make and how fast you make them.

If you’re struggling to decide on the best and fastest way for you to achieve your goals. Send us an email and title it, decisions, and one of my team can help you get an invite to my next speaker and sales training.

Let this be your first decision to take control of making 2022 the best year for your business yet.
